What kind of a manager are you?

There are 4 core facets for the manager role - clear vision, set up a well-defined system/processes, define mission and KPIs and people skills, attaining all facets will establishing an high motivated and effective teams.

Be clear with your vision

Take your time and define the vision with your team, the vision is the light house for your team and will motivate them.

They will understand the priories better and will be able to take autonomous decisions all by themselves.

The road will not be easy, but with a clear vision in mind of the team members they will be able to overcome the obstacles to come.

Managers without a clear vision, might work well in middle management or might be very effective in eliminating waste and optimizing the teams work, yet, once the team will reach a good stable status, they will encounter difficulties in setting the next bar for the team.

Set up a system

a well-defined system will enable everyone to work smoothly, meaning, defining the needed processes and the right roles will enable the team to scale up and eliminate waste.

Manager which are reluctant to set up a well-defined system might work very effectively in small teams, yet, when trying to scale up they will encounter difficulties and the teams might feel frustrated from the chaos and lack of calrify of the differnt roles and duties.

Define mission and KPIs

Translating the vision into mission and KPIs is essential for enabling the team to relate to the vision, and beleive that the vision is reachable.

Setting high standard is crucial for attaining the best results and excellence from your team, yet, you must make sure it is reachable.

Managers without a clear mission and KPIs may set up unattainable expectations from their team, and without the ability to measure the progress of the team, in the long run, the team will not be able to align with the expectations and may be confused and frustrated.

Solid People skills

The importance of having solid people skills is enormous. It is a key part of the manager role in all levels. It includes a variety of skills and a lot of them actually can be developed and learnt.

Managers without people skills, are usually tasks oriented without the ability to see the people in the equation.
